Banking & Payment Processors

The company takes three days. The bank account is the hard part.

Why you were declined

It is usually the risk model, not the founder.

US banks and fintechs assess a non-resident applicant differently from a domestic one. Approval rates for founders from several countries have fallen.

Some providers keep their own list of countries they will not serve, separate from and stricter than the US government's sanctions lists — Mercury is the best-known example. A new company with no trading history and a thin business description is an easy decline.

None of that is a judgment about you. It is a risk model, and risk models can be answered.

What we actually do

We prepare the application the way the institution reads it.

  • We write your business description the way an underwriter reads it: what you sell, to whom, how money moves, and why the structure is what it is.
  • We assemble the documents in the form each institution expects.
  • We tell you which banks and fintechs are realistically open to founders from your country at the moment, rather than sending you to the same one everybody else recommends.
  • If you have already been declined somewhere, we look at why before we try again. A second rejection is more expensive than a slow first application.

What we cannot do

We cannot guarantee an account.

The bank decides, we do not, and any provider telling you otherwise is selling you something they cannot deliver. What we can do is make sure your application is the strongest honest version of itself.

Payment processors

Stripe is an underwriting decision, not a sign-up.

Stripe and its competitors are underwriting decisions, not sign-ups. They read your website before they read your documents. We build the business profile, the policy pages and the site content they look for. Same principle: we prepare, they decide.
